Yen Tran was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away on August 5, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Yen was born on January 11, 1963 in Vietnam and was the third of ten children.

Yen's family immigrated to the United States when she was 12 years old. She learned to assimilate to a new culture while simultaneously attending school that was taught in an unfamiliar language. After many years of dedication and hard work, she completed her schooling and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Houston. From there, Yen began over a decade long career as a financial analyst at Chevron-Texaco.

Yen met the love of her life Tai and they married in December of 1989, merging their two large beautiful families. They began their own family with the birth of their first daughter Victoria, followed by Ashley, and then Christina. In addition to excelling in her illustrious finance career, Yen also shined in her roles as a devoted wife and mother.

Among the many joys in her life, Yen experienced her greatest joy when her first grandson Sonny was born, followed by her second grandson Shepherd.

In her free time, Yen dedicated her life to doing charity work. Her passion for helping others was apparent through the countless volunteer hours, donations, and home cooked meals she blessed others with. She supported many nonprofit organizations, churches, family members, and friends. Yen was a pillar of the community.

Most importantly, Yen is remembered as a faithful and devout steward of the Lord. Even through the challenging moments in life, her faith and trust in God never wavered.

Yen is survived by her husband Tai, her daughters-Victoria, Ashley, and Christina, her grandchildren-Sonny and Shepherd, her parents-Hue and Hiep, and her many loving sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 8:00pm both Thursday and Friday, August 10 and 11, at Peevey Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00am Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Vietnamese Martyrs Church. Rite of Committal will follow at South Park Cemetery.
