Winston L. Davis went to his heavenly home in the early morning of November 28, 2023. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1935, to Reverend C. Lamar and Josephine Davis. He was 88 years old.

Winston spent much of his childhood at his grandfather's family homestead near Marbury, Alabama where he developed a deep love of farming and ranching. As a teenager he and his two brothers sold their 4H projects to help the family come up with a down payment for their own 80-acre farm near Equality, Alabama.

As a teenager, Winston joined the Air Force and was stationed at Connally Air Force Base in Waco Texas. While visiting town he saw the prettiest brown eyed girl he had ever seen Miss Jerry Ann Rappe. He bought her a candy bar and a coke starting a romance which has lasted nearly seven decades. On November 17,1956 they married and soon went back to Alabama having their first child and barely making payments on their own 50-acre farm.

In 1959, with the hopes of landing a refinery job Winston moved the family back to Texas settling in Pasadena. He didn't get the refinery job but eventually landed a job working for Crane Valve Co. as a shop helper where he quickly learned valve repair working his way up to shop foreman.

In 1975, blessed with three more children and a partnership in a valve company Winston decided to set out on his own creating a successful family business "Davis Valve Inc" where he remained until he retired.

In the late 1980's Winston and Jerry sold their 50 acres in Alabama and began the search for a country place in Texas. They purchased a small ranch in Moulton Texas which from that moment on he lovingly referred to as "Over Home". Winston spent as much time as possible at the ranch tending cattle. Winston loved operating tractors and bulldozers well into his 80's. He always said he did his best thinking from a tractor seat.

Winston had many interests including classic cars mostly the Model A Fords produced from 1928-1931. He built several during his life tinkering with them up until the end. He could be seen all around Pasadena and South Houston making his rounds in his "Yeller" step-side pickup.

Winston's sense of humor brought many laughs to his friends at the Whataburger senior breakfast club. Someone once asked him if he's lived in Pasadena all his life? His reply was "not yet". Another asked him "where does your wife shop for groceries"? His reply "Luby's".

Winston was involved in many organizations: South Houston Chamber of Commerce, South Houston and South Pasadena Rotary, South Houston Masonic Lodge, Houston Area Model A Club, and Texas Cattleman's Association.

Winston had many accomplishments in his lifetime but none more important than his family. He was the best provider, teaching his children how to provide for themselves and their families.

Winston is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Jerry Ann Davis, his four children Debbie Baugus & (Billy), Jimmy Davis & (Cindy), Roy Davis & (Stacey), Dee Davis & (Greg Kelso). Also, surviving are 4 grandsons, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

Winston was preceded in death by his parents C. Lamar and Josephine Davis, Brother Joe B. Davis, Brother Michael Davis and son-in-law Billy R. Baugus.

Visitation will be held at Peevey Funeral Home 12440 Beamer Rd Houston Texas 77089 on Monday December 4th, from 10-11:30am with a graveside service following at 12:30 at Grand View Memorial Park 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, Tx 77505
