Willodean Marie Malanaphy-Edwards, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023. She was 95, born on November 15, 1927 in Cresco, Iowa and was a Labor and Delivery nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas prior to her marriage to Harold Edwards.

She was a member of her local Red Hat Society, actively involved in her church, and a participant in the Right to Life movement. She enjoyed gardening and painting, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her ten children and their spouses, Richard and Debbie Edwards, Randall Edwards, Cheri and Greg Idle, Karen Edwards and Neil Lander, Terrell and Susan Edwards, Sandra and Kurt Schaefer, Susan and Gary Hemmi, Brenda and Joey Bayer, Gary and Maritza Edwards, and Joan and Ron Janak; as well as 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Michael Malanaphy; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, April 10, 2023, at Peevey Funeral and Cremation Chapel – 12440 Beamer Rd., Houston, Texas. A Vigil Service will begin in the chapel at 7:00 P.M. Services will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023, 11:30 A.M., at St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church – 1612 E Walker St, League City, Texas, with Father John Rooney officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery – 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, Texas.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Brian Edwards, Dustin Edwards, Darryl Idle, Travis Idle, Sean Edwards, Jason Sherwood, Derek Janak, and Jared Janak.
