William "Bill" Gordon Kielman 81, of Deer Park, Texas also known as "Poppy" passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022. Bill was born on December 12, 1940 to Bartie and Eala Kielman in Willis, Texas.

Bill graduated from South Houston High School in 1960. He went on to pursue a degree in education at the University of Houston and graduated in 1964 with his Bachelor's degree and graduated in 1971 with his masters.

After graduation he landed his first teaching job at Queens Intermediate as a science teacher and coach. He then moved to Pasadena High School and served as an assistant principal for several years until he became associate superintendent of personnel. He served the Pasadena school district for 36 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eala and Bartie V. Kielman; Brother Bartie V. Kielman Junior; and granddaughter Katelyn Ann Means.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Ann Kielman; daughter Sherri Kielman Means and husband Louie; Grandchildren Connor Means and wife Kate, and Collin Means and a host of other family and dear friends.

Bill was an avid University of Houston fan and always wore his cougar cap with pride. Poppy also loved to watch and cheer on the Astros from his favorite chair in the family room.

One of Bill's pride and joys was his rescue dog, Maddie. Poppy loved to take Maddie for walks around the block. Poppy knew all the neighbors and enjoyed stopping and visiting and sharing stories and jokes.

Bill loved his family and spent time with them every chance he got. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Celebration of Life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Saturday, November 12, at 2:00pm, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
