On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, William "Bill" Arthur Anderau, loving husband, father of two children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild passed away at the age of 80.

Bill was born on March 2, 1944 in San Diego, CA to Earl and Katherine (Turney) Anderau. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Sul Ross State College in Alpine, Texas in 1965. In 1966 he joined the U.S. Navy served as Lieutenant Junior Grade in Vietnam. Upon discharge from the Navy, Bill went to work for the Alpine Phone Company. The work entailed running telephone lines in Big Bend. He did it like a real cowboy, on horseback. Bill worked for Texaco on the Texas New Mexico Pipeline in Crane, TX. This is where he met his first wife, Glenda Bisang Hoggard. He was blessed with Glenda for 7 years before her death. Although they had a short life together, he was lucky enough to be part of two teenage children's lives. He would forever hold those two children, David Hoggard and Marsha (Hoggard) Ramirez, close to his heart as family. Texaco sold the pipeline to Shell Oil Company and shortly after that he met Marion through her friend and Bill's uncle Andy. On February 8, 1998, he married Marion Hagemeister Lindhorst. This brought Bill to Pasadena, TX to live with Marion for the next 26 years.

Bill had a love of God thus leading him to actively participate at Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. This truly became his church family.  Bill formed friendship with the men at the church as they worked in brotherhood caring for the church.  Whether he was: serving on council, helping those in need, mowing the lawn or even washing the dishes after a church gathering, he was happy to be a part of the church.  All was done with an open heart in the name of Jesus.  Bill was an avid reader. He enjoyed reading history, autobiographies, current events and a good mystery. With this diverse interest in literature, he could easily contribute insight on most topics. Bill enjoyed working crossword puzzles, mastering a challenging Sudoku puzzle and numerous games. He appreciated the ability to travel demonstrated by going to Switzerland (meeting relatives from there), visiting Hawaii, Alaska and cruising. He also assisted in the senior bus trips.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Earl, mother, Katherine and first wife, Glenda. He is survived by his wife, Marion, his sister, Earlene (Nick) Pike, niece, Nikki (Billy) Thomson, great niece, Lilly Thomson, his children, David (Loralei) Hoggard, Marsha (Johnny) Ramirez, grandchildren, Harrison, Grant (Reagan), Preston and Gabriel Hoggard, Jordan (Branson) Moore, Samantha Ramirez, great grandson, Lincoln Moore.

Bill was a kind, helpful, loving man who will be missed by all who knew him.

The family wants to express its gratitude to Bill's wonderful and kind care givers Connie and Joe. Also, to extend appreciation for the attention and care extend to both Bill and his family from the loving staff at La Vita Bella Assisted Living and Essential Hospice as he journeyed to his heavenly home.

The funeral service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church at 6435 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11:00am, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations in memory of William Anderau be sent to Lutherhill Ministries to help cover the cost for underprivileged children to attend summer camp.
