Wanda Marie (Giroir) Rascoe was born on October 27, 1940, in Port Arthur, Texas. She passed gently into her Savior's arms May 5th, 2026.

Wanda was the baby of three children to Freddie and Jane Giroir, and her siblings were Harry and Myrtle.  Graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur (1959), Wanda got a strong work ethic early on, as she was in Distributive Education (work program). After high school Wanda worked at Weingarten's, under her department head Betty Rascoe. It was during this period that she met her eventual husband Larry Rascoe of Port Neches, Texas while visiting her department heads' husband, Calvin, in the hospital.

Wanda's working life consisted of running a home day care for 35 years, where she specialized in schoolteachers' children. Wanda cared for more than 100 children usually from birth through prekindergarten.

Wanda's favorite thing to do was attend Sunday school at Sagemont Church where she had been a member since 1968. She loved her church and friends at Sagemont. During her tenure there she worked most summers in vacation bible school with her best friend Mary Ella Elam. After many summers in vacation bible school Wanda went on several mission trips out of the country including one to Africa with her deacon John, and wife Kay Bass.

Wanda is preceded in death by her loving husband Larry, brother Harry, sister Myrtle and her beloved son Gregory.

Wanda is survived by her son Britt Rascoe and his wife Kimberly Rascoe, their two children Amber and Connor, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, if you would like to donate, Wanda always enjoyed the challenge of giving to the building fund at Sagemont Church and she would be honored if you help her meet their goals.

The the family will receive friends Monday, May 11, from 12:30 until 2:00pm the service will follow at 2:00pm. at Peevey Funeral Home.
