Wanda Hope Guidroz Hammer, age 82, passed away November 15, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Pelly (now Baytown), TX on March 30th, 1940.

Visitation and memorial service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Pentecostals of Katy, 1941 Westborough Dr, Katy, TX 77449. Family visitation will begin at 12:30PM with general visitation beginning at 1PM. The graveside service will be Monday, November 21, 2022, 1PM at Brookside Cemetery in Houston, TX. Wanda is survived by her husband of 62 years, Cleon Wayne Hammer of Boerne, TX. She is also survived by her son, Reverend Kerry Wayne Hammer and wife Geana of Boerne, TX; and her daughter Dora Juliet Hammer Johnston of Boerne, TX; Grandchildren: Kerri Elizabeth Rauch and husband Michael Rauch of Edison, NJ; Larrilyn Hope Hammer and Grayson Wayne Hammer.

She is also survived by two sisters: Billye Joy High of Houston, TX; Jewel Rae (Judy) Frahm of Bay City, TX; and one brother: Reverend Ronald Leslie Guidroz and wife Jerry Ann of Galveston, TX.

Wanda is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of close friends, including members of Boerne Pentecostals – Boerne, TX, Life Church – Houston, TX, and former members of Peace Tabernacle – Baytown, TX and Church Triumphant (formerly United Pentecostal Church) Pasadena, TX.

She was preceded in death by her son Jonathan Norman Hammer; grandson Thomas Michael Saad; parents, Reverend Vily Able Guidroz and Dora Emily (Raggio) Guidroz; sisters Glory Lois Allahverani and Grace Opal Guidroz, and Faith (Boots) Bunch, brothers Reverend Lowell David Guidroz and Reverend Vily Arlen Guidroz; brothers-in-law James Frahm and Walter David High; and nephew Stephen Russell High.

She was widely loved for her kindness, compassion, and strong-willed determinism. She exceeded expectations in her drive to help others.

Wanda was well-known for her love and desire for church work, including Sunday School, where she was integral to the development of the "Centers of Interest" method of instruction. She was always active in the Music and Youth Ministries. She and her family were involved in multiple church plants across the country, including Boerne Pentecostals, where her son Reverend Kerry Wayne Hammer is pastor. She loved God and she loved doing His work.

Wanda was admired for her interior designing talent. She always loved working around the house and church. She attended San Jacinto College in her 50's and graduated with a degree in Interior Design. She went on to operate her own Interior Design consulting business.

Among the more challenging things she took on was to travel around the country for a few years, alone, selling Beanie Babies at local trade shows. She did all the traveling and all the work alone and had many wonderful stories to tell of that time.

Her family and her grandchildren were a great pleasure to her, and family holidays were always eagerly anticipated.

Wanda will be sorely missed in our family and our community.
