Velda Arlene Brown, 90, lovingly known as "Vel" entered into rest Sunday, August 2, 2026 at her home in Pasadena, TX.

She was born to Roy and Clara Conrad Harrison. County, IND. preceded in death by siblings Wilma, Alvin, Donald, Betty, husband W. L. Brown and daughter Elizabeth Latham. She is survived by brother Johnny of Salem, IND, sister Judith Cartwright of Elizabethtown, KY, and daughters Linda and Billy Glasscock, Catherine Becker, Joelle and Joseph Stubbs, Doris and Larry Albitz and Carla and Kevin Emery.

Velda leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Velda was much loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Velda discovered bowling over 6 decades ago and quickly became a prominent member of both the local and state associations.

Velda was the founding member of the Pasadena chapter of the 500-600 club and later became the state president. Velda was nominated and inducted into the Pasadena Bowlers Hall of Fame in 1998, which was a huge accomplishment for her. She was a bowling coach not only to her daughter but to all youth bowlers and was always encouraging the sport of bowling.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Vital Caring Hospice; specifically, Edith, Makayla, Rene, and Anastasia for the loving care, dignity, and unwavering support they provided to our mother during her final days. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
