Tonya Lynn Lacy was born in Pasadena, Texas on October 27, 1974, to Douglas Baley Lacy and Diane Carol Besch-Keller. Tonya passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer at her father's home on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Tonya went by many titles: mom, grandma, friend, sister, and daughter. During her life, Tonya had special connections with many people. If you were a friend to Tonya, she provided all of her love and support no matter the situation. Tonya had many interests in life, including painting, shopping, and nights out with her friends. The most important thing to Tonya, however, was spending her time with her family. When Tonya was very young she gave birth to a baby boy but made the very hard decision to give that baby up for adoption, as she felt she was unable to provide the life she wanted for him. Two years later she had another son Mark-Anthony Cruz Rodriguez and five years after that gave birth to her third son Daniel Preston Postel. Tonya worked hard to provide the best life for her two sons Mark and Daniel, and thirteen years ago she was reunited with her firstborn son Michael Chad Darlan.

Ten years ago Tonya was overjoyed when her first grandchild Jordan Rodriguez came into this world, followed by Ayanna Rodriguez, and finally Connor Darlan. From the moment Jordan was born Tonya loved nothing more than spending all of her energy and love on her grandbabies. If you followed Tonya's Facebook page, you probably noticed that her feed was completely consumed by pictures and posts about Jordan, Ayanna, and Connor. Throughout the year Tonya would buy clothes, and gifts for her grandchildren, and whenever a birthday or Christmas would come, each grandchild would receive a big box full of presents, and nothing gave her more joy than watching those kids open her gifts.

Tonya was a hardworking woman and devoted many years to Brazos Construction and everyone at Brazos became a part of Tonya's family. Tonya was a star in her own movie and everyone is blessed to have known her during her amazing life.

Tonya is survived by her sons: Mark-Anthony Cruz Rodriguez and Michael Chad Darlan, her parents: Douglas Baley Lacy and Diane Carol Besch-Keller, and her siblings: Ricky Lacy, Rhonda Lacy, Kimberly Craft, Barbra Billings, and Theresa Lacy.

Everyone has learned something from her, as she lives in our hearts, let's celebrate the life of Tonya Lacy. Her love will always live forever.
