Thomas Claude Pryor, Jr. age 69, of Pearland, Texas went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday June 26, 2024.  His loved ones were by his side.

Born September 21, 1954, in Texas City, Texas to Thomas Claude Pryor Sr. and Jimmie Ruth Coonrod Pryor.  Tom worked most of his life in the oil and gas industry. Tom retired from Amoco Oil and then began working for WTMC as a subject matter expert. In 2009 Tom went back in the field as a cost engineer at Valero Houston.  In 2018, WTMC was acquired by OnPoint, from which Tom retired.  Tom was a loyal, hardworking employee and mentored several young individuals who went on to be successful cost engineers.  Tom retired from OnPoint in 2021.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating and fishing. He had plenty of stories to share about his catches, although a few were what some would call a whale's tale.  Gardening was quite the passion for Tom, and he took pride in making sure his gardens were one of the prettiest in the neighborhood.  Tom was beyond proud when his yard placed at the top each year in his neighborhood competitions. Did someone say baseball?  One of Tom's fondest memories was coaching little league. Helping the children develop their skills and watching the smiles on their faces when they won brought Tom so much joy.  It will be hard to find a greater Astros and UT fan than Tom.  During the season you'd be sure to find him in his chair cheering and/or yelling at his "stros" or UT team. Family was Tom's life. He loved to tell stories to whoever would listen and was passionate about spending time with family and friends, especially at Christmas and Thanksgiving where his meals were enjoyed by all.  Tom had so many gifts and passions and whether it be fishing, gardening, coaching, watching baseball, celebrating Christmas or spending time with family, his memory will be a part of them all.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas C Pryor Sr, and Jimmie Ruth Pryor (Coonrod), brother Robert E. Pryor and niece Lisa Pryor.

Those left to cherish his memory, include his devoted wife of 10 years, Shawn (Hopkins) Pryor; sister Marilyn E (Pryor) Perry and husband Clay; sister-in-law: Judy Pryor:  his children; sons, John Pryor, Kilian Goodson and wife Kate Beery; daughters, Lauren Pryor McNanny and husband Andy, Erica Cote and husband Bruce;  grandchildren: Haylie and Brennon Pryor, Liam McNanny, Ella Cote, Mackenzie and Hunter Todd, Willow Goodson; nieces: Cassi Perry Springman, Brandi Perry, Peyton Jay; nephews: Marshall and Cash Perry, Bradley Pryor, Robert Pryor.

The service honoring Tom's life will be held at 11am, Friday, July 12, 2024, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, TX 77089, with a visitation thirty minutes prior.
