On June 20, 2022, Theresa B. Zertuche was reunited with her loving husband of 53 years in heaven. Unbeknownst to her and her family she had been battling leukemia which took her from this earth entirely too soon and rapidly.

Theresa was born on December 11, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas and this is where she met the love of her life. Eventually they moved and began their family in Houston, Texas where they ended up residing and raising their family in La Porte. The home they started still sits there today full of memories, love and laughter.

Theresa was a supportive and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She truly gave her all to her family. No obstacle was too great for her to overcome, and nothing was worth more to her than her family. She was also dedicated to God and church, she served side-by-side with her husband for many decades. She was a member of the choir, youth director, church secretary, and a great friend to many.

Theresa was also a hardworking woman who spent a great amount of her life working for Kmart up until the moment their doors closed. She then took on various other positions but no matter what it was that she was doing, she always took pride in her work and always went above and beyond.

Theresa was the embodiment of a living angel, she never let anyone go without. Up until her final moments she was always doing whatever she could to make everyone's life around her easier. She was beyond selfless and she has left a large imprint on those around her.

Theresa is reunited with the love of her life, Rodolfo Zertuche, Sr. in heaven. She leaves behind her heartbroken children: Rodolfo Zertuche, Jr. (Liz), Tammy Zertuche-McCoy (Greg), Jennifer Martinez (Reuben) and Priscilla Zertuche.Also left behind are her 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.She is survived and loved by many and will be incredibly missed.

The service celebrating Theresa's life will be held at 2:00pm Friday, July 8, 2022, at Peevey Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
