Susan Dillon Kwalik, currently of  Seabrook Texas, passed away on October 24, 2024  after a brief hospitalization.   By her side,  were her two grandsons, Todd & Scott Brinen, daughter Kristina Kwalik and Joe Zeitler, her loving companion of 22 years.

Susan Dillon Kwalik was born on December 31, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to James A. Dillon and Beatrice Armbruster Dillon.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kristina and Colleen Kwalik, grandson Todd Brinen and his wife, Allyson Duane, grandson Scott Brinen and her long-term companion Joe Zeitler.  Also Susan is survived by her brother, James M. Dillon, sister Mary Joyce Dillon, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Kwalik, as well as 9 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 34 years, Bernard L. Kwalik, and her childhood best friend, Maxine Moran Zeitler.

Susan grew up in Pittsburgh PA, and graduated from Carrick High School, with honors, in 1956.
She promptly went to work for Koppers Engineering where she met her future husband, whom she married in 1960.  Before her marriage, she converted to Roman Catholicism to marry Bernie Kwalik, and was very committed to her faith, always.
After the arrival of two daughters, the family moved to Bethel Park, PA.

In 1985, Susie and Bernie relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where they enjoyed a life as empty-nesters.
After Bernie's sudden death in 1994, Susan again relocated, this time to Clear Lake Texas.
Here she started a career as a nanny---and in 1996 became "nanny-granny" to Todd, her first grandchild and then to Scott.
She cherished her time as a devoted grandmother to both her beloved grandsons, creating precious memories that they will treasure always –like walks to the school bus, trips to the Space Center, and lots of ball games.

Despite the long work hours, she found time for fun and dating, eventually developing a long-term, loving relationship with Joe Zeitler, the widower of her long-time friend Maxine Moran.
The two families were connected already --- Maxine was Susie's best friend and maid-of-honor when she married Bernie ---Maxine was Krisy's God-Mother and Susie was the God-Mother to Joe & Maxine's second daughter: Megan.   So after Maxine passed --- the inevitable connection between Joe and Susie was just nearly ideal –with both families being tied together before and forever.
Joe and Suzie shared 22 happy years filled with enjoyable travel, both domestically and internationally, exploring new restaurants and developing new friendships.

Everyone that met Susie, so enjoyed her company and sweet disposition.
She will be remembered for her kindness and thoughtfulness to others.

Susan will be interned with her late husband, Bernard L. Kwalik in a private service at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
Friends and family are welcome to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 14th at 6:30pm in the community room, at the residence that she and Joe shared:

Susan lived a rich life devoted to close loving relationships with friends and her family. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and companion and will be greatly missed.
