Sue Cater Barnett, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted servant of the Lord, peacefully passed away on September 1, 2023, in Friendswood, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Born as Jerry Cater on July 30, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she adopted the name "Sue" during high school and became Sue Barnett upon her marriage to George Bryan Barnett, affectionately known as Bryan. Sue's life was a testament to love, faith, and the enduring power of family bonds.

Sue's journey was marked by love, faith, and a deep commitment to her family. In 1970, she united in marriage with Bryan, embarking on a life filled with joy, shared challenges, and unwavering devotion to one another. Their love story served as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of witnessing it. Bryan's passing in 2018 left a void in Sue's heart, but their enduring love continued to guide her throughout her life.

Sue's love extended beyond her husband and into the hearts of her three cherished children: Jackie (Eddie) Prim, Jeff (Dana) Barnett, and John (Lynn) Barnett. She was the epitome of a devoted mother, always offering guidance, support, and unwavering love. Her children, in turn, learned from her the importance of family, faith, and the power of a loving home.

Sue's legacy also encompasses the beautiful tapestry of her 17 surviving grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Grammy." Her love for them knew no bounds, and she delighted in watching them grow and flourish, always offering her unconditional love and wisdom.

One of Sue's greatest passions was her involvement in the Sagemont Church choir, where her beautiful voice lifted the spirits of the congregation as she sang praises to Jesus. Her faith was not just a part of her life; it was the very foundation upon which she built her family and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sue's adventurous spirit led her to missionary travel in Africa and Israel, where she formed deep and lasting friendships while serving others. These connections were a testament to her compassionate heart and dedication to making a positive impact in the world.

The funeral service to celebrate Sue's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday September 5, 2023, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd., Houston, TX 77089, beginning with visitation at 10 am, followed by the service at 11 am, and lunch to follow.  Later, at 2 pm, she will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn, 8706 Almeda Genoa Rd. in Houston.

As we say goodbye to Sue, let us remember her as a woman of unwavering faith, a loving mother and grandmother, and a true disciple of Christ.
