Sharon Gayle (Criswell) Rigsby, 82, of Pearland, Texas, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 18, 2026. She was born in Victoria, Texas, on July 26, 1943, to James Henry Criswell and Alice Dowling Criswell.

Sharon grew up in Victoria and graduated from Victoria High School before continuing her education at Victoria College and Lamar State College of Technology. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Houston. After college, she served as a regular substitute teacher in Pasadena schools. Her true calling, however, was being the wife of Frank, and full-time mother to her two children, Gayle and Neil, roles she embraced with devotion and love.

For 56 years, Sharon was a faithful member of Sagemont Church, where she poured her heart into a variety of ministries. Her life reflected a genuine faith lived out in daily acts of care, encouragement, and generosity.

Sharon found joy in the beauty of God's creation, especially in her garden. She was known by her friends as an avid photographer and painter. She nurtured her plants with the same encouragement she offered to the people in her life, cultivating spaces of beauty and growth wherever she went.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Alice Criswell; her sister, Sandra Williams; her brother, Jimmie Criswell; and her sister-in-law, Sylvia Rhodes. She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank Rigsby of Pearland; her son Neil Rigsby of San Antonio; her daughter Gayle Ash and husband John of Belton; her brother Chris Criswell and wife Margie; her sister Ann Taylor and husband Robert; sisters-in-law Darla Pollard and Kay Brown; grandchildren Andrew Ash and Sarah Ash of Belton, and Stephen Ash and wife Justine of Salado; and her great-granddaughter Rose Ash, who brought her immeasurable delight. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and many friends.

A memorial service celebrating Sharon's life will be held on May 7, 2026, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, TX 77089. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.

Because Sharon loved her garden, plants and flowers are welcome. Memorial donations may also be made in support of Sagemont Church missions to Africa, a cause close to her heart.

Her legacy is one of faith, adventure, and ministry, leaving deep roots in the hearts of all who knew her.
