Sarah Sue Delgado was born in Denison, Texas to Grady and Zenobia Potts in their home on June 25, 1944, passed away November 6th, 2022.

Sarah, or Yaya as she was later known as, enjoyed, painting, shopping, music and cooking. In high school she enjoyed acting in plays and was the editor of her school yearbook. She received her liberal arts degree and teacher certificate from Texas Woman's University.

After college she moved to Houston where she met her husband Richard Delgado of 51 years while moving into her apartment. She taught for 38 years eight grade history and theater arts at both Baker Jr. high and LaPorte Jr. high in LaPorte. She loved her students and would always find the good in each of them.

She was also very active at her church, St. Luke the Evangelist. She taught confirmation before she became the coordinator for 13 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Delgado. She is survived by her children, Heather Delgado Adams, Mason Delgado and Justin Delgado; grandchildren Izzy Delgado and Bryson Adams; and soon to be a great Yaya.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke The Evangelist Catholic Church, Friday, November 11, 2022, at 11:00am., with visitation one hour prior to the mass. The rosary will be prayed at 10:15am. The burial will be privately held at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
