On July 12, 2023 we celebrate the amazing life of Sandra G. Cullen, born on July 13, 1955 and 67 years later passed on July 3, 2023. Survived by her husband of 46 years, Jeff L. Cullen and two daughters Brooke M.Cullen and Dawn M. Houston and son-in-law Steven Houston. Of course by her six grandchildren as well: Kale Houston, Hallie Kohutek, Eva Houston, Seth Kohutek, Kiersten Houston and Kaitlin Houston.

Sandra was born at Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at 12:53 am to her father Joseph Shaw (deceased-U.S. Army-Korean War Purple Heart recipient) and her mother Mary Shaw (deceased), on Wednesday, July 13, 1955. She was the oldest of three, as she had two sisters, both deceased, Linda Shaw and Brenda Shaw.  She had multiple times caring for her two sisters growing up and always valued the importance of family.

Sandra graduated high school in San Antonio, Texas at Thomas Edison High School, class of 1973. She was on the honor roll throughout her school years, participating with the dance team and cheerleading team. She continued her honor roll status at San Jacinto Community College, in Pasadena, Texas. She worked in the accounting department with accounts payable for American Packaging & Gasket Company (APG) in Houston, Texas. She always spoke highly of the ones she worked with and how they always felt like a second family.

Sandra enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and Elton John, shopping, loved pink flamingos and enjoyed spending time with family. Grew up with family vacations to Disney world, Disneyland, Branson, Missouri, Yosemite National Park, Jellystone Campground, Corpus Christi Beach, the Grand Canyon and many more memories that'll last a lifetime. She has sold her own possessions to help another family in need because that's the type of person she was. She would give the shirt off her back to help a stranger, because she had a true love for people. She once said "it's not always about expecting anything in return, when giving to someone in need. Cause you watch the expression on their face, now that is priceless." As mentioned above she valued family, love and kindness towards others. Sandra G. Cullen will truly be missed by all her friends and family, and Sandra we all love you!

The service for Sandra will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 12, at 11:00am., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
