Salam "Sal" Hanna Boridy, 85, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Sal was born on January 12, 1941, in Dakar, Africa, and grew up in Lebanon. He came to the United States to complete his studies, marry, and settle down. While living in the Southbelt area, he coached youth soccer for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, smoking cigars, and spending time with family and friends.

After retiring from the railroad, he cherished the extra time he had to cook traditional Lebanese dishes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hanna & Nassima Boridy and his sister, Najat Hindi.

He is survived by his sister, Maha Mansoir; his children, Nina Abrego and John Boridy; his grandchildren, Alexis, Andrew, Olivia, Julia, and Jacob; his great-grandchildren, Lyric and Samuel; and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at Peevey Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 28, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary prayed at 6:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 29, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
