Our Mother and Grandmother, Ruth Hazel Richardson went to Heaven to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025. Ruth was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on July 30, 1939 to Elizabeth Josephine Sifferd Claypool and Henry Francis Claypool. Ruth attended and graduated Ponca City High School with the Class of 1957. Shortly after graduation she married John Thomas Caughlin II of Tonkawa and together they had five beautiful children. Unfortunately, John Thomas passed all too soon in 1970. After the devastation of losing her husband and her children's father, she met Houston D. Richardson and they married in 1972. Ruth was a legal secretary for James Knox for many years before moving to Palestine, Texas where she began to work as a Secretary in the TDCJ Prison School System in Tennessee Colony, Texas where she worked until her retirement. After retiring, she enjoyed being on their peaceful rural land, taking care of their pets, going on road trips, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In her more recent years, Ruth moved to Friendswood, Texas where she could be closer to her girls, Beth and Suzan and their families. She always looked forward to frequenting the Beauty College to get her nails and hair done, going shopping and out to eat with her family where there was never a dull moment. Everywhere she went she was chatting with "strangers" and calling everyone honey. While at home she loved reading and would devour her books quicker than she could get her hands on the next one. She loved all of her fur babies and was known for spoiling them rotten. Being with family and getting to spend time with her grandbabies and great grandbabies was special to her. She always made sure to send her loved ones a card, or maybe even a homemade magnet or two to let you know she was thinking of you. Ruth always made sure to go to her high school reunions in Ponca City and loved catching up with old friends. She was a very special and unique woman that will be missed dearly by many.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Henry Claypool, her First husband of 12 years John Thomas Caughlin II, her Late husband Houston D. Richardson, Son Anthony Noah Caughlin, Grandson Chad Ryan Caughlin, Son in Law Brad Tadlock, and her many beloved fur babies, especially Sparkman.

She is survived by her children Suzan Tompkins (Husband David) of Houston Texas, Gregory Caughlin of Houston Texas, John Caughlin (Wife Patty) of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Tadlock of Pearland, Texas, Grandchildren Christopher Tompkins, Amanda Neal, Lauren Cremers (Husband Blaine), Thomas Caughlin, Amber Charalampous, Caitlin Caughlin, Danielle Tompkins, Noah Caughlin, Connor Caughlin, Sterling Flisowsky (Husband Jeff), Great Grandchildren Tyson Caughlin, Jase Caughlin, Landon Cremers, Gracie Caughlin, Lilly Cremers, Lainey Cremers, Damien Tompkins, Cohen Clemons, Wyatt Clemons, and baby Cash Flisowsky due in January 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025 from 11am to 1 pm at Biker Church located at 20711 Hwy 6 in Manvel, Texas 77578
