Ruth Pitchford, our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at the age of 94.  Born on October 21, 1930 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Elsie and Charlie Warwick, she resided in the Houston area for most of her life. Raising her family there.

Ruth found strength and comfort in her faith in Christ especially in the promise of eternal life. She touched the lives of so many people.  She was very talented and was involved in many sewing groups. A master seamstress, she could design and create almost anything. She would often make designer clothing for herself. One of the things that brought her the most joy was making custom embroidered quilts for each of her grandchildren.  They were true works of art.   Along with sewing she enjoyed cooking and was widely known for her desserts and the homemade bread she would give to others.  Coming from a singing family, she particularly enjoyed singing at church.  Ruth was full of life and brought smiles and laughter wherever she went.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her parents, Charlie and Elsie Warwick, her brother Howard Warwick, sister Helen Golvach. Survived by her sister Doris Clark (Mel), her daughter Sherri Sawyer (Chet), Jan Pearson (Calvin) and son Glenn Pitchford.

Grandchildren Josh Sawyer (Sarahi), Kyle Sawyer (Lindsay), Bryan Sawyer (Arielle), Anna Pearson, John Pearson (Janell) and Deborah Steinter (Nick). Great grandchildren Brayden Sawyer, Bristolyn Sawyer, Brynlee Sawyer, Brooklyn Sawyer, Isaiah Sawyer, Autumn Sawyer, Victoria Sawyer, Christian Sawyer, Ellie Steiner, Hannah Steiner, Leah Steiner and Everett Pearson.  As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Her smile and laughter will be greatly missed, the world was a brighter place with her in it.

Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a beautiful life sharing stories and memories. Ruth's funeral will be at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX 77089 Tuesday, May 6th, at 12:00pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N. Main Street, Pearland, TX 77581.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruth's memory to a ministry of your choice.
