Russell Munoz passed away on Dec. 3, 2021, at the age of 72, in his hometown of Houston, Texas. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges. Despite the pain, Russell stayed strong and proud until the end.

Russell enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18. He honorably served his country in Vietnam from 1968-69. After being wounded in action Russell received The Purple Heart for his courage and sacrifice and was honorably discharged. Russell came home a hero.

Upon returning home it was not long before he met the Love of his life and wife of 50 years, Olga in Sugar Land, Texas.

Russell was an avid sports enthusiast being a huge fan of The Houston Astros, Houston Oilers, Houston Rockets and The Houston Texans. Russell went on to have a long working career working for both Anheuser-Busch and Maxwell House Coffee for 42 years.

Russell is survived by his Loving wife, Olga Munoz, only son Christopher Russell Munoz, and two daughters Leticia Gonzalez and Sandra Teng. Together Russell and Olga have eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild expected in January 2022.

A rosary and visitation for Russell will be held at Peevey Funeral Home on Monday, December 13, from 6pm-8pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke The Evangelist Catholic Church at 11am., Tuesday, December 14; interment will follow the funeral mass at Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
