Ronald (Ronnie) Gene Lirette, 87, of Coldspring, TX, born on August 16, 1938, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 7, 2026.

Ronnie was the youngest of four boys born to Jeffery Francois Lirette of Houma, LA and Virgie D. Chandler Lirette of Laurel, MS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn S. Lirette; both of his parents; his brothers Gerald (Jerry) W. Lirette, Lawrence (Larry) J. Lirette and Thomas W. (Bill) Lirette and sister Kim Lirette Hoffart.

Ronnie is survived by his three daughters, Sherilyn Leland and husband Troy, Lisa Lirette, and Julie Childress and husband Brad. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory, grandchildren Garrett Leland and wife Kara and Shelby Lucadou and husband Jacob; great grandchildren Carson and Addison Leland and Jeremiah and Josie Lucadou. Ronnie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were blessed to know him.

Ronnie graduated from Milby High School in 1956 where he played football for the Milby Buffalos. After graduation, he attended Texas Tech University. In 1958, he made the decision to join the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of Private First Class. A year later, he married Carolyn Stewart in 1959. Ronnie and Carolyn raised their family in Houston, TX where they remained until retirement. He then bought property and took great pride in building a beautiful home in Coldspring, TX.

Ronnie was a well traveled man with a career in sales, traveling to 49 states and nearly 20 countries throughout his career. He eventually started his own company selling pollution free incinerators, taking part in the build process, start-up, training and on-going consulting.

Ronnie never met a stranger. He was witty, a master story teller, "the life of the party," hosting the best parties and celebrations creating memories of laughter and good times that will be shared for years to come.

He was passionate about his Louisiana roots and the love of cooking family meals, especially Sunday dinners. He was also a founding member of the Brisket Cases BBQ cook off team. He enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors and sports, especially football. He was a wealth of knowledge with a strong sense of ingenuity. He had a passion for history, especially the Civil War period, and could recall specific battles, important names and facts, as well as weapons used. In his later years, his greatest enjoyment was watching his great grandkids play.

Ronnie, Dad and lovingly known as Gramps, will be deeply missed but we find comfort in knowing he leaves behind a legacy filled with love and that he is now home with his Savior.
