Throughout his life, Ron Burnett, preached the love of Jesus Christ and was an example of love and faith to his family and community. Ron, at the age of 82, passed from this life to his eternal reward on October 1, 2021.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara Burnett, and his children, Rhonda Richardson, Lisa Smith and husband Briggs Smith, Jonathan M. Burnett and his wife Shanna; grandchildren, Nathaniel Richardson, Hollye Richardson, Austin Smith and wife Katelyn, Jonathan T. Burnett and wife Holly, and Cloey Burnett; great grandchildren, Logan, Sidnye, Savannah, Bailey, Samantha, Thomas, Zoey, Zachary and Grace, and great great grandson, Drako, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Barrett and Christine Burnett; brother, Paul Burnett; sister-in-law, Patsy Burnett, and grandson, Grayson Smith.

He attended Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas, where he earned his BTh in 1970. He went on to achieve his MTh in 1980 from Saint Thomas University, Houston, Texas. Ron was a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International. He loved his work with the church. His mission in life was to show kindness to a hurting world. He pastored in Ft. Worth, Texas and started Victory Tabernacle in La Porte, Texas. Ron had an infectious smile and a positive attitude regardless the situation or location. He served in missions work in Mexico, Peru, San Salvador, and Colombia. He was a ray of hope to many, while others have acclaimed his acceptance of them made them realize mercy is truly possible.

Ron also loved his country. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960 as Petty Officer 3rd Class Radioman.

Ron's outgoing personality made the world a better place. His example as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend will be missed. We shall hold him in our hearts forever.

Ron's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 16th, at 2:00pm at Springs of Life Church, 1111 Center Street, Deer Park, Texas 77536.
