Roger Anthony Straight Jr. 58 went home to be with Jesus on August 26, 2026. Roger was a beloved husband, son, son in law, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this world too soon, after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. Born on December 20, 1967, in Galveston, Texas, Roger lived a life defined by dedication, love, loyalty, and an unwavering devotion to the people he held dear.

Roger was the cherished eldest son of Sue Davis Straight and Roger Anthony Straight, Sr.  He is now reunited with them in Heaven along with his father-in-law Jerry Rhame, maternal Uncle William "Buddy" Davis and Aunt Luann "Sissy" Barlow, his grandmother Ana Cox, and his loyal fur baby, Jasmine.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Deanna Rhame Straight, with whom he shared 33 years of love, friendship, and companionship. Roger and Deanna were married on January 28, 2005, building a life together filled with memories and a love that endured through every season.

He is also survived by his loving mother-in-law, Terrye Rhame, and his brothers, Rodney "Dean" Straight (wife Irene and son Tristan Zane "TZ") and Ronnie "Bear" Straight (wife Michelle and daughter Raylin Michelle "RayRay"). His sister-in-law Debbie Rhame Moye and her husband Tommy, along with their children Robert LeBlanc (wife Lindsey and daughters Avery Jane and Livvy Quay) and Ryan Moye (fiancé Chelsea Willis), who will deeply miss him.

Roger's extended family includes his brother of the heart, Lennie Onesky, and partner Becky, as well as his little sister of the heart, Mari Drey. His absence will be profoundly felt by these special people and by the many friends who became family throughout his life.

Roger graduated from La Porte High School, Class of 1987. He spent many summers as a welder's helper to his father, which molded his strong work ethic, commitment, and unwavering loyalty into every part of his life. For 23 years, he proudly served Allied Fire Protection in Pearland, Texas, where he was far more than simply a coworker to so many. Allied became another family to Roger, and he took tremendous pride in the company, the work, and especially the people he shared it with. He was also a proud member of the AFP Smokers cook-off team, helping earn an impressive 3rd place in Brisket at the Brazoria County Fair in 2018.

Roger's faith was equally important to him, and he was a proud member of First Baptist Church Pasadena. His church family held a special place in his life and surrounded Roger and his family with unwavering love, hope, and prayer throughout his journey.

Beyond his work and church, Roger found great joy in fishing, hunting, leatherwork, BBQ cooking, and paracord braiding. But more than any hobby, accomplishment, or title, Roger will be remembered for the way he loved and protected the people in his life. He was a man of honor; fiercely loyal, deeply devoted, and always protective of those he called his own. To Roger, friends were family, and once you were part of his family, he loved and treated you as such.

A service to honor and celebrate Roger's life will be held Saturday,  September 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM,  with visitation one hour prior to the service, at First Baptist Church Pasadena, located at 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX, 77505.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Roger's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to his heart, or to his church, First Baptist Church Pasadena.

Roger's life was a testament to the words of 2 Timothy 4:7-8: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
