Robert "Bobby" Rios, age 55, passed away on April 16, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on September 6, 1969, in Weslaco, Texas, Robert brought warmth and laughter to those around him throughout his life.

Robert was raised by his beloved grandmother Maria Villarreal Rios, whose nurturing presence shaped much of who he became. He is survived by his devoted mother Adelina Vela and stepfather Israel Vela. His siblings—Rene Vela (Diana) and Israel "Ronnie"Vela—shared a close bond with him throughout the years. Robert also held a deep connection with his uncles and aunts, whom he considered as brothers and sisters: Juan Rios (Ramona), Peggy Fuentes, Raul Rios (Mary), Elena Rodriguez (Rene), Sylvia  Bogia, Ramiro Rios, and Roy Rios. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will carry forward his memory.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Juan O. Rios and three cherished relatives whom he regarded as siblings: Pedro Rios, Jose "Pepe" Rios, and Herlinda "Linda" Zuniga.

A proud Texan through and through, Robert was an avid sports enthusiast. He cheered passionately for the Dallas Cowboys and followed the Houston Astros with equal enthusiasm. Whether it was football season or baseball playoffs, Robert could always be counted on to root for his teams with unwavering loyalty.

Known affectionately as Bobby to many, he had a kind soul and an infectious sense of humor that could light up any room. His ability to bring joy to others made him the cornerstone of his family—a steady presence whose absence will be deeply felt.

Robert "Bobby" Rios will be remembered for the laughter he shared and the love he gave so freely. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

The service honoring Robert's life will be held at 10:00am, Friday, April 25, 2025, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
