Robert Dean Nicholson was born October 2, 1948, he passed away January 31, 2025 at age 76 at his home in Friendswood, Texas surrounded by family and friends.

Robert was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Esther and Robert Merle Nicholson. His family then moved to Phoenix when he was 12 yrs old. After graduating from Sunnyslope High School he was drafted in the Army and served in Viet Nam. When returning to Phoenix he met his wife Susan and they were married in August 1971   Robert and Susan then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where they raised 2 children. In 2013 after retiring Robert and Susan  moved to Clatonia, Nebraska. In December 2022 Robert and Susan moved to Friendswood, Texas.

Robert was an avid horse racing activist since he was a young child, loved to watch the Nebraska Cornhuskers on TV. He loved to read mysteries and even wrote some short stories himself. Robert was quick to help anyone that needed it financially as well as support and comfort to everyone he knew. He loved his family and many, many fur babies during his life and will be greatly missed for his sense of humor.

Survived by wife Susan, Daughter Kerri (Phillip) Sutliff, Son Brian (Nicole) Nicholson, Brother Kenneth Nicholson, Grandchildren; Ava, Dean and Charlotte and his beloved 4 fur babies.  Also Several niece, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Merle Nicholson and Esther Nicholson, sister- in -law Linda Nicholson, several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held in Nebraska at a later date.
