Bob was born on March 13, 1936, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to parents Ernest and Faye Hinkson. He grew up in San Antonio alongside his siblings, Jeannie and Tom, before moving to Wichita Falls, where he met the love of his life, Glenda Hinkson, in high school. They married soon after she graduated, beginning a beautiful journey together. Bob and Glenda were blessed with two daughters, Jana and Lori, who were the joys of their lives.

Bob had a brilliant mind, and a heart devoted to faith, family, and service. After earning a degree in chemistry from Midwestern University, he moved to Houston, where he and Glenda joined Woodridge Baptist Church. His passion for mentoring young people led him to teach in the youth ministry and coach basketball. In 1968, he became a dedicated member of Sagemont Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and missionary. He saw a need and founded the church's first Singles Ministry, always seeking ways to serve and uplift others.

Bob was a man of boundless creativity and curiosity. If you could imagine it, he could bring it to life—often making it even better. He embraced life with a spirit of adventure, pouring his talents into photography, travel, woodworking, painting, canoeing, hiking, camping, and cooking. His love for exploration took him across the world, from Japan and Nepal to Europe, Africa, and beyond.

Above all, Bob was a devoted family man. He is survived by his daughters, Jana Beytebiere and husband Curt, and Lori Townsend and husband Alan; grandchildren Nicole, Joshua, Meghan, Courtney, and Grant; great-grandchildren Elinor and Mason; and numerous other relatives and friends who were blessed to know and love him.

On the evening of April 1, 2025, Bob passed peacefully as Alan Jackson's Wherever He Leads I'll Go played, a fitting tribute to the faith that guided his life. He was surrounded by love as he entered his eternal rest.

Bob's legacy is one of faith, love, and a relentless pursuit of life's beauty. His wisdom, kindness, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he no longer walks beside us, his spirit will forever be felt in the love he shared and the lives he touched.

The family will welcome friends at 11am, Monday, April 7, 2025, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
