With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Claude Hargraves on March 29, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on November 6, 1962, Robert was the beloved firstborn son of Claude and Jean Hargraves.

Robert grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Dobie High School before pursuing welding school, where he discovered his passion for working with his hands. He enjoyed a successful career with the Houston Light Company for over 20 years and proudly served as a member of Union 66. Later, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a pipeline inspector with Lone Star before retiring in 2018.

Robert spent his retirement years embracing a peaceful, joyful life in Damon, Texas. He loved the simple pleasures—sitting on the porch watching deer, tending to his yard, riding his Harley, and cruising around on his golf cart. An avid outdoorsman, Robert delighted in taking his grandchildren fishing, teaching them how to fish and shoot, and sharing his wisdom and laughter during countless conversations with family and friends.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. His greatest joy came from loving and caring for his family, especially his wife, children, and grandchildren. Robert was a kind, generous, and loving man who also found joy in fostering dogs for the local Shar-Pei rescue, camping, listening to music, watching his favorite late-night shows, and proudly driving his beloved truck.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Hargraves; his children, Kyle Hargraves and Chae Clark; his cherished grandchildren, Schyler Clark, Ava Clark, Francis Hargraves and Malcolm Hargraves; his Uncle Harold Hovland and Aunt Beth Hovland; Uncle Mike Mauldin & Aunt Linda Mauldin; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Jean Hargraves, and his brother, Richard Hargraves.

Robert's kindness, strength, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will be cherished, and his legacy will continue through his family and friends.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home in Houston, Texas, on April 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
