Robert Ernest Butcher, Jr, 56, passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on September 15, 2021.

He was born on April 2, 1965 in Houston, Texas to Robert E Butcher & Margie Lynne Lowe, and was a 5th generation native Houstonian. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Richard Ray Courtney, Marjorie Elizabeth Ogg, Charles Edward Butcher & Florence Elizabeth Butcher.

Bob grew up and attended school in Southeast Houston and graduated from J Frank Dobie High School in 1983. Bob then attended Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, Wyoming, and graduated at the top of his class as an Elite Automotive Transmission Technician. Bob opened his first independent transmission shop in 1987 and continued to serve the greater Houston area supplying transmissions until suffering a stroke in September of 2021.

Bob was an avid bowler and competed in numerous leagues around Houston beginning at the age of 12. His highest achievement in the sport was winning the 1988 HBA Houston City Wide Tournament. In his later years, Bob enjoyed time playing in a Men's Amateur Baseball League, as well as golfing with friends & family.

Beyond his professional and personal accomplishments, Bob was known by the people he loved as someone who would always be there to extend a helping hand as soon as you called. No matter if it was car trouble, home renovations or general advice, he was a reliable source for how to move forward without asking for anything in return.

Bob is survived by his wife of 34 years Cyndy Butcher. His son Alex Butcher and fiancé Kristi Marino, son Benjamin Butcher, his wife Camille Butcher and expectant grandson George and daughter Christina Butcher.

The service celebrating Bob's life will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, September 18, 2021, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
