Robert Peyton "Butch" Elder, 78, passed peacefully into rest in the morning on Friday, January 28, 2022. He is preceded in death by his soulmate and love of his life, Dianna June (Wall) Elder. He leaves his two loving sons, Robert Logan (wife Samantha), and Russell Peyton, and four beautiful grandchildren, Madeline, Elaine, Shane, and Victoria. Brother, Fred and sister-in-law Shirley; Brother-in-law, Kenneth Wall and Charllen; as well as many nieces, and nephews and long-time friends dear to his heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Robert "Bob" Elder and Meta Boyes Elder; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Richard Conti.

He was born January 10, 1944 in Houston, TX. He graduated from Milby High School where he and Dianna started dating. After high school graduation, he attended the University of Houston and joined the U.S. Air Force. While in the USAF, he worked as an airplane mechanic and traveled extensively throughout the world. Butch married his childhood sweetheart Dianna on July 15, 1968 in Newport, VA. They returned to Texas and raised their sons in Pearland, TX. He ran a successful construction company throughout the years and was a great coach to local community baseball programs.

Butch and Dianna had a love for country music and dancing which continued throughout their 48 year marriage until Dianna passed on January 24, 2014. There was always music playing in the house and out on the back patio when they would sit and visit, enjoy the garden, and the newest crafting projects. He enjoyed hosting BBQs, hunting, the family bay house, visiting with family, and fishing. His eyes and smile could light up a room and especially while he danced the night away with his love, Dianna.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00AM at Peevey Funeral Home at 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, TX.
