Robert Parker "Bobby" Young, Jr., was born in Houston, Texas on October 12, 1945 to Virginia Thomas and Robert P. Young, Sr.  He passed away on May 1, 2024.

After his father died at an early age, Bobby spent several of his formative years living with his maternal Aunt, Martha Hinson, in Oklahoma, and his cousins who became his brothers and sisters: Nancy, Stephen, Wanda and later addition, Kristie. His mother remarried to the man he lovingly called Dad, Marvin L. "Little Bit" Rowland, a World War II Veteran, and the three of them shared many happy times travelling throughout the United States.  You could often find them together around the coast of Seabrook and Kemah fishing and enjoying the local seafood.

Bobby graduated from South Houston High School in 1965 and became an apprentice pipefitter. In March of 1969, he married Barbara "Cherry" Husbands, and they had two daughters, Lori and Monica Young. Upon his death, he and Cherry had enjoyed 55 years of marriage.

Bobby was a Journeyman Pipefitter and proud member of the Local 211 Pipefitters Union. He took justifiable pleasure in the craftsmanship of his work on projects such as the South Texas Nuclear Power Generating Station in Bay City, Texas and the Budweiser Plant in East Houston, amongst many others. He travelled around the US from project to project for over a decade to provide a living for his family. Fish feared him, as well as ducks, dove, squirrels and the occasional deer.  Bobby loved the outdoors and spending time with his many friends in boats and blinds.

Bobby leaves behind many beloved friends and family: wife Cherry; daughters Lori and Monica; son-in-law Daniel Pfeiffer; grandchildren Grace Perales, Trevor Perales and Ellery Keels; bonus grandchildren Lane Pfeiffer and Maci Pfeiffer; devoted brother- and sister-in-law Johnny and AnaMaria Husbands; Nieces Sarah Hagan and Madison Husbands; Nephews Jacob and Zack Husbands; Caretaker Erica Salas; many cousins and second cousins near and far, and many cherished friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for 6:30pm on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Peevey Funeral Home; 12240 Beamer Road, Houston, 77089.
