It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Alan "Rick" Fiess, who was called home to the arms of our Heavenly Father on April 5, 2025, at the age of 76. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Fiess.

Born on January 30, 1949, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Rick lived a life defined by his profound faith, devotion to family, and unwavering integrity. He was a devoted Christian and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Rick spent 43 years of marriage with his  wife, Stephanie Fiess, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and humor.

Rick grew up in Terre Haute, IN and attended Garfield High School where his athleticism was demonstrated as a member of the track team.  Rick served in the US Army beginning July 8, 1971 until he was medically discharged June 21, 1974.  He moved to Texas thereafter and attended San Jacinto college embracing numerous studies. Following his college education, he was blessed with a career in the petrochemical industry spanned over four decades, during which he worked for AMF Tuboscope, Brown & Root, Halliburton and KBR, among other highly respected companies.

Upon retiring, Rick embraced his hobbies with the same enthusiasm he brought to his professional life. He found joy in bike rides, tending to his yard, and attending his grandchildren's baseball and softball games, where he was a proud and devoted supporter. Rick had a sincere appreciation for the beauty and speed of cars, and he was a gifted woodworker, a skill learned from his father. He was also a passionate fan of the Houston Astros, following them with dedication throughout his life.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie; his brother, Dean Fiess and wife, Carol; his sister, Elaine Reaves and husband, Larry; his children, Ron Letterman, Neil Fiess and wife Courtney, Brian Fiess and wife Trisha, Jody Fiess and wife Michelle, and Bethanie Fiess; and numerous grandchildren, a great-grandchild, nieces, and nephews.

Rick's kindness, humor, integrity, and passion will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will be cherished, and his legacy will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.

A funeral service to honor Rick's life will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, April 19, 2025, at First Baptist Church Pasadena, 7500 W. Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77505, with visitation one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 10:00am at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
