Richard Mottu Moreno, Jr. (Big Richard) age 60 passed away peacefully at Clear Lake Regional Hospital on Tuesday April 5, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 22, 1961 to Richard Valdez Moreno and Geneva Mottu Moreno, he grew up in South Houston, Texas. He was the oldest of four children. Richard graduated from South Houston High School in 1980 where he met his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Tracey Lynn Tompkins. They were married on July 25, 1980 and were blessed with two beautiful children, Richard Vance (Little Richard) and Sara Kate. Richard loved his kids with all his heart. He spent many days on the football and baseball fields watching and coaching Little Richard, often challenging him to a homerun derby at the local baseball park. His fishing and hunting buddy was Sara, she shared his love for outdoors. She kept her daddy busy with her involvement in raising and showing animals for FFA. There was never a doubt that you would see Big Richard in the stands for all these events. He also loved his country music, both current and past songs and recently attended the Eagles concert with Little Richard – a memory forever cherished.

Richard worked as an Automotive Service Technician for 30+ years – the Ford certified expert at local Ford dealers, Mac Haik Ford and Tommy Vaughn Ford. Richard loved to cook for his family – his specialties were his brisket, ribs, jalapeno poppers and his famous fajita pinwheels. He loved to fish and hunt and would spend many weekends at the deer lease with his dog Newt, mother andfamily members, always making memories.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Tracey of 42 years, children: Richard Vance and Sara Kate (Max Labay). He is also survived by his mother, Geneva Moreno, siblings: Yolanda Marin (Carlos), Kristine Fox, Ray Moreno (Stephanie). Sister-in-law's: Tamara Jean Taylor, Dana Renae Tompkins, Jami (Adrain) Murphy;Brother-in-law, JimBob McGowen. He leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts,uncles, cousins, many special friends and his K9 buddy, Newt. He is preceded in death by his loving father, Richard Moreno;In-laws: Vance Tompkins and Judy McGowen.

In his 60 years, Richard lived more life than most others could only hope to have. He loved life and wanted to pay it forward through his Gift of Life through organ donations. The family also thanks the doctors and nurses at HCA Regional Hospital in Clear Lake for their compassion and support during this most difficult time.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am., Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089.
