Peggy La Vern Reno Hulsey went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the age of 92. Peggy was born in Whittenburg, TX on September 24, 1929 to Jess William Reno and Oleta Mahalie Stinson Reno. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Billy George Hulsey in 2005 after 57 years of marriage.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Stephen Hulsey and his wife Anna and his children Rachel and Stephanie; Gwen Hulsey and her husband Jay Fenner and their son William; and Howard Hulsey and his wife Melodie and their sons, Jacob and his wife Stephanie and their children Kaylie and Madison, and Cory and his fiance' Alexa Hinojosa. Peggy is survived by her sister, Shirley Reno Holm and her husband Sidney Eric Holm, Jr. Peggy's brother Charles Dwayne ("Buddy") Reno and sister, Sandra Kay Reno preceded her in death. Peggy was blessed with a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews too many to name but all cherished in Peggy's inclusive way.

Peggy was a gracious, loving, generous woman full of energy with a commitment to serve her family and community. She selflessly gave her time and resources to First Baptist Church of Pasadena. She actively participated on the building committees for the 3-phase development and construction of First Baptist Church Pasadena on its current site on Fairmont Parkway. She loyally and productively served her employer Galveston-Houston Company and its principal over 40 years in many functions including Controller, Administration, Office Services, Insurance and Benefits. She was entrusted to work with the general contractor, architect and interior designer to build and furnish Galveston-Houston's corporate office building at 4900 Woodway.

Peggy was always there for her friends, supporting them in their times of need, always listening and finding ways to encourage and help them. Her friends come in all ages. She fostered friendships with neighbors and their young children and made connections everywhere she went. She supported her family as a leader and mentor, always finding ways to help them accomplish their goals while demonstrating how to live an honorable life.

Peggy loved traveling with family and friends. For her 60th and 65th birthdays, she organized a friends' trip to climb down into and out of the Grand Canyon. She went on several trips to the Holy Land with her pastor and church friends. She took her 4 older grandchildren on numerous vacations throughout the years and more recently loved to travel with her grandson William to Steamboat Springs and Gatlinburg, Tennessee each year. Peggy was actively engaged in the lives of all those around her!

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Peggy's life on Friday, June 17th in the Chapel at First Baptist Church of Pasadena, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX 77505. Visitation begins at 10am, the Service starts at 11:30am, Lunch will be served at 12:30, interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
