Pauline Alma George Plocheck, wonderful wife, mother, and 100-year-old matriarch of our family, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023. She was born to parents William Boyd George and Elmira Vadie Fisher George in Cedar Bayou, Texas on July 26, 1922.

Pauline went to Lamar Elementary, Horace Mann, and Robert E. Lee. She loved playing basketball and was a very independent young lady. She learned her love for plants and flower arranging from her mother. She and her sisters, Evelyn and Billie, grew up working at Grandma George's flower shop in Baytown. Those years molded her into the decorator that she was. As an adult, alongside her daughters, she loved sewing and made beautiful things for her home as well as embellishing pillows and jackets with beading and lace appliques.

Pauline married J.B. Plocheck from Stoneham, Texas on January 22, 1939. As their family grew, they moved to their first home on Humble Street and began raising their children Sonja, Gerald, and Wanda. Their next home on Live Oak became a gathering place for friends and family. Every Christmas they hosted a wonderful Christmas Eve party. Between the many '42' domino games, parties and dinners before Robert E. Lee football games, everyone was always welcome at their home.

In 1969, Pauline and J.B. built their home on Kipling, where she lived for the last 53 years of her life. Pauline was a member of garden clubs, Red Hat group, quilt bee and Sunday school, often hosting luncheons and meetings. She also organized local Harris County Senior Citizen Day Trips. She truly loved people, never met a stranger, and was happiest when she was entertaining. Pauline lived and enjoyed her life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by husband J.B. Plocheck, daughter and son-in-law Wanda and Bill Brock, and son-in-law Mickey Banister; also, by her parents, William and Elmira George and sisters Evelyn Opryshek and Billie Edwards.

Pauline is survived by daughter Sonja Banister along with her children Deborah Esposito and husband Joe, Keith Banister and wife Jerri, and Steven Banister and wife Wendy; by son Gerald Plocheck and wife Barbara along with their children Sandy Wiggins and husband Ted, and Rob Plocheck and wife Tamera; and by Wanda's children Joe Brock and Paula Maire and husband Daniel. She was always proud to announce that she had, and is also survived by, 15 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
