PAULETTE JARRELL GARNUCH joined her husband in Paradise on November 4, 2023 in Pasadena, Texas.  She was born to Samuel Nathan Jarrell and Oma Evelyn Loftin Jarrell on January 11, 1949 in Bon Weir, Texas.  She and her beloved younger brother Sam grew up in deep East Texas until the family moved to Pasadena, Texas.  She graduated high school in Pasadena in 1967 and at age eighteen she married the love of her life, Norman C. Garnuch. They had thirty-three years of happiness together before he suddenly passed on after being diagnosed with cancer.  Paulette faithfully looked after her mother-in-law and her own mother when both were diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

Paulette learned to drive at age fifty after the deaths of her husband and mother-in-law and maintained a perfect driving record.  She worked at Walmart for many years and loved to take Caribbean cruises with her friends at Golden Acres Baptist Church.  Paulette was an avid reader who enjoyed a wide range of books including romances, mysteries, thrillers, paranormal, history and inspirational titles.  She was a long-time member of Golden Acres Baptist Church, the Friends of the Pasadena Public Library and the Pasadena Historical Society.

Paulette was preceded in death by her father Samuel Nathan Jarrell, mother Oma Loftin Jarrell Fawcett, her brother Samuel David Jarrell and her cat Sophie.  She is survived by her nieces Sheri Garnuch Graham of Houston, Cheyenne Lakota Keel of Vidor, Savannah L. Horn of Vidor, Stephanie Jarrell Helton of Center, her cousin Flemon Jarrell of Bon Weir and her two beloved cats Monkey and Boogie. The  funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road in Houston, Texas.  Visitation will be at 10:00am and the service will begin at 11:00am.  Burial will follow the service at 12:30pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas. A gathering will follow the burial at 2:00pm at Pepper's Steak & Seafood, 3604 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas, where her family and friends can enjoy a last rib-eye steak on Paulette.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sarah's House of Pasadena and the Friends of the Pasadena Public Library.
