Paula Anita Newell Elkins, age 84, of Houston, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2025, surrounded by love. Born on March 10, 1941, in Texas City, Texas, Paula lived a life rooted in faith, family, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Virginia Kathryn "Kat" Newell, and her brother, Billy Ray Newell. She is survived by her sister, Cynthia Saxenian. Paula is survived by her children: W. Keith Elkins and wife Jennifer; T. Kevin Elkins (deceased) and wife Carolyn; daughter Jennifer Faulkner; son Larry Faulkner; and son Russell Faulkner (deceased). She also leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life: Shelbee Rene' Hernandez and husband Gavino, Courtney Paige Allen, Bailey Nicole Andraca and husband Ruben, Ashley Lauren Elkins, Austin Ryan Elkins, Tyler Chase Elkins, Noble Stone and wife Katie, along with a host of great-grandchildren and loved ones to follow.

Paula spent her professional life as a medical transcriptionist, a career that reflected her dedication, attention to detail, and quiet strength. Outside of work, her heart belonged to her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest blessings. She was deeply devoted to her cherished friends and carried a strong, steady faith that guided her throughout her life.

Paula lived her life for her family—they meant the whole world to her. She wished to be remembered as someone who loved her loved ones with her whole heart, and she did exactly that.

A celebration of Paula's life will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX 77089.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love, faith, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
