Paula Gail Box was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior after she passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024. Paula is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Box; and her brother, Douglas Fonville. She is survived by her parents, Jerry M., and Barbara Jean Fonville; her sister, Vickie Fonville; her brother, David Fonville (Dennis Elsbury); her daughter, Laura McGee (Raymond McGee); her son, Joshua Box (Theresa Box); her son Jason Box (Katlyn Box); eight loving grandchildren, Kyralynn, Krystabelle, Raymond Jr., Russell, Kaydence, Henley, Isla, and Lennon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paula Gail was born on September 16, 1953, in Pasadena, Texas. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1971. She met her late husband, Russell Wayne Box, at Sam Houston State University where she sang in the choir and graduated in 1975 with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Education. Paula and Russell married in 1976 and relocated to southeast Houston, Texas where they rooted their family and careers. Paula was a devout member of Sagemont Church where she served in the children's music ministry and led worship alongside Russell. Paula worked as an elementary school music teacher, serving the children, families, and staff of the Pasadena Independent School District for an astounding 28 years.

Paula was whimsical, light-hearted, and she was discerning to always lift the spirits of others up and not bring them down. She was very intentional about giving more than she took. She was selfless, caring, and she genuinely loved others out of obedience, whether stranger, friend, or foe. She navigated the many adversities in her life with immense grace and a steadfast trust in the Lord. Her faith in God was unwavering and her witness of his love to others was bold and continuous. Paula's presence of character will be sorely missed, but there's great confidence that her legacy of hope and compassion will bloom for generations.

Paula will be laid to rest at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX 77089, on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11am with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in League City.
