Paul Warren Chapman, of Pearland, Texas, was called to his Heavenly Home by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the age of 78. Husband, Father, and dear friend; Paul is survived by his loving wife Carol Chapman; three children - Michelle Knight, Robert Chapman, and Shawn (wife Stacia) Chapman; five grandchildren - Ashley Frames, Mason Knight, Jeffrey Chapman, Abigail Chapman, and Madison Chapman; and siblings John (wife Beverly) Chapman, Anne Merillat, and Susan (husband Joel) Lavering. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Chapman, among other family and friends. He was beloved and befriended by many who will forever feel his loss.

Paul was born in Galveston, Texas, on August 21, 1946, and raised in La Marque until his family moved to Brownsville in 1961. There he would meet the love of his life, Carol, whom he married on August 19, 1967, at First Baptist Church in Brownsville, Texas. Paul graduated from Brownsville High School in 1964, graduated from University of Texas Austin with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1969, and later obtained Masters degrees in both Industrial Engineering and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Houston.

Initially working in Houston as a Petrochemical Engineer, he grew and raised his family in Sagemont until taking a position in Utah with Seal-Tech in the wake of the Challenger 7 Tragedy. He was brought in due to his expertise in quality control and oversight to work on the Presidential Inquiry into the event and was instrumental in finding solutions for the redesign. He then came back to Texas to work for General Dynamics in Harlingen in 1988. Paul worked in both the Petrochemical and Aerospace industries as a Quality Control Manager and Subject Matter Expert, ultimately retiring from Lockheed Martin at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Meridian, Mississippi.

After retiring, Paul and Carol moved back to Pearland to be close to their children and the community they loved. Active with Sagemont Church both before moving away and after returning, Paul volunteered with the church's Helping Hands outreach program, and was very involved in his children's and grandchildren's lives. Paul enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, and hosting his friends and family during gatherings.

The Celebration of Life will be held on October 2, 2024 at Peevey Funeral Home in Houston. Visitation will begin at 10am with a service at 11am, interment will follow at 12:45pm at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.
