Patricia Ann Sarver McFarland, known affectionately as Pat, was born May 23, 1941, in Beaumont, Texas.  Pat was so honored to be the daughter of JD and Cleo Sarver.  She loved growing up around her cousins and Maw-Maw Sarver in Vidor, Texas.  Pat passed away at her home on December 3, 2025, at the age of 84.  Over the years, Pat held prestigious office positions, but her FUN job, after retiring, was becoming a school crossing guard for the Alief Independent School District.  She loved it so much she remained there 23 years.  The kids loved her and would come back to see her over the years.

Pat was well known in her community of Briar Village Subdivision—where she lived over 20 years.  There, Pat was a founding member of the BV Citizen Patrol team. She remained on the team for 12 years—until her passing.  Pat was a believer in exercise and being healthy. She loved to walk her dogs each day through the neighborhood and stopping to talk to friends.  She was a Greeter at Ashford United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of the Bible Study Group there, and on the church Prayer Team.  She loved her AUMC family, and they loved her.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Ken McFarland, her parents JD and Cleo Sarver, brother Jay Dee (DD) Sarver, her special aunts Nadine Wright and LaVelle Busker, and her beloved dogs Scooter and Lucky.

She is survived by her dear godson/cousin Gary DeCuir, sister-in-law Charlotte Sarver, nephews Randall and Ryan Sarver, niece Robin Sarver Daugherty, special cousins LaVelle (Sissy) Hammer, Gayle Wright Leonard, Mike Sarver and Bricky Sarver, also her devoted friend Karen Avery and a host of other friends and relatives.

Our lives are blessed and richer because of you Pat.  We love you always.

The service honoring Patricia's life will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, December 8, 2025, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089. Burial will follow at 3:30pm, at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
