Olivia Gonzales Palacios left us to meet her Lord and Savior at 4:10am on January 22, 2024 after a month long battle with illness and complications.

Olivia was born on May 22, 1938, to Barbarito and Olivia Gonzales in San Diego, Texas.  At a young age, she married Oscar Navejar and had two beautiful girls named Linda and Annabel in Alice, Texas.

She later married Alfredo S. Flores, Sr. with whom she also had three beautiful children, Alfredo Flores, Jr., Norma Jean Aguilar, and Robert A. Flores.

Our mother, like every mother is the center of our universe.  While we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the fact that she no longer suffers from the imprisonment of arthritis, she no longer needs a wheelchair, that her moans of pain have been transformed into songs of praise, her fears while on this earth were transformed into joy and the wonderment of Heaven, that all of the earthly ailments are behind her, and she was greeted at those beautiful pearly gates by her grandson Michael, her husband and all of her family members who predeceased her so many years ago.

Although she couldn't finish all her schooling, God bestowed upon her a PhD in the study of the word,  and she now walks on streets of gold and knows the wonders of Heaven that we spend a lifetime longing for.   We are comforted in the fact that His promises are real, and that she will soon be petitioning our Lord Jesus Christ for additional rooms in her mansion for her family, and that one by one we too will stand before those magnificent pearly gates and there will be our Mother waiting with open arms.

She is predeceased by her husbands, Carlos, Ferro and Roger, her mother and father Olivia and Barbarito, her brothers and sisters and her grandson Miguel Alfredo who greeted her into Heaven on Monday morning.   She is survived by her sister; Zulema Garza, her children; Linda Mae Navejar, Alfredo Flores, Jr., Norma Jean Aguilar and Robert A. Flores, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Peevey Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at 1:00pm Monday, January 29, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that you donate to Arthritis foundation.
