Levita was a long-time resident of Pasadena, Texas and a retired teacher. She passed away after a brief illness on Monday, March 4, 2024.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenard Vaughn and her son, Patrick Zink.

Sometimes our true love doesn't happen for us until later in life.  For Levita this person was Lenard Vaughn.Their love for one another was obvious to all. Her pride and joy was her son, Patrick.  Now she is reunited with her two favorite men: Patrick and Lenard.

After many years as a hair stylist and salon owner, her desire to do more led her to return to college to earn a Bachelor of Science degree which ultimately led to her second career: teaching. She taught at San Jacinto College for 19 years and just retired, December 31, 2023. Levita's dedication to her students was often rewarded with letters of appreciation for all she did to help them reach their goals.

She is survived by her stepson and his wife, Len and Michelle Vaughn and granddaughter Briley Vaughn. Siblings: Betsy Young, Ina Bronstrop, Patti Bomer, Van Middleton and many nieces and nephews.

Her life and memory will always be cherished by her niece, Kellye Chaumier, "Levita's person", and her great niece, Jessica Tidwell.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 7500 Fairmont Parkway Pasadena, Texas 77505.
