Nicholas Robert Helzer was brought home to the welcoming arms of Jesus on April 15, 2023. Nicholas was born on December 6, 1978 in Houston Texas. He attended Clear Lake, Lutheran South Academy High Schools and San Jacinto College

Surviving and missing him are his family: mom Jean McCain and step-dad Rusty McCain of Pearland Texas; his father Thomas Helzer and step-mother Karen Helzer of Novato California; sister Holly O'Neal and brother-in-law Brad O'Neal of League City Texas; nieces Abigail O'Neal, Emery O'Neal and nephew Benjamin O'Neal of League City Texas. Also missing him are aunts, uncles, and cousins in Missouri; and the many special friends here in the Houston area that have been with him during his time here on earth.

There was only one Nick. He was kind, extremely intelligent and from a very early age had a passion for seeing how things came apart, then putting them back together. It led him to love being a self-employed mechanic, carpenter, and computer electronics guru, a go to guy for building or repairing things. We will never forget his big heart, big sweet tooth, and fun-loving antics. He would extend himself beyond his own self wants and comfort level to interrupt what he was doing to go help someone do something or go fix something for them. He loved animals and would take in a stay or help find it a home. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm., Saturday, April 29, at Peevey Funeral Home; 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas.
