Neva Janelle Taylor peacefully went home to be with the Lord, at the age of 41, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Nene, as she was affectionately called, was born October 1, 1979 in Houston, Texas, to Willie Ben Taylor Jr. and JoAnna Mack Taylor. She attended Dobie high school, where she participated in the Dobie Lariaettes Drill Squad and the school's Drama Club. After graduating from high school, Neva began her collegiate studies at Stephen F. Austin University where she received a B.A. in Social Work. While at Stephen F. Austin, Neva was a member of the Angels Dance Team. She received her Master's Degree in Social Work from Our Ladies of the Lakes University in San Antonio. In 2006, she pledged Lambda Psi Delta Professional Sorority. She had a successful career as a Social Worker at the United Way of San Antonio. She was a beautiful, caring daughter, and a devoted and loyal friend to many. Neva demonstrated her love for the Lord, and was an active member of Sagemont Church in Houston, and Hope Arise United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas.

Neva was preceded in death by her father, Willie Ben Taylor Jr.; maternal Grandmother, Neva Wallace; paternal Grandmother, Cornelius Granger; Grandparents John and Elizabeth Mack and her uncle John "Mickey" Mack, Jr. She leaves cherished memories with her loving Mother, Jo Anna Mack Taylor. She also leaves treasured memories with Aunts: Sharon Alcee (husband Fred), Eldrin Tillman (husband Roy), Gertie Lee Williams (husband L.K.), Wanda Young (husband Alfred) of Arlington, Texas; Ethel Mack and Charlotte O'Neal of Galveston, Texas; Deloris Jean Flemon and Michelle Taylor of Houston, and Annie Ruth Whitmill of Hobbs, New Mexico; Uncles: Johnnie Lee Whitmill (wife Julie) of Corpus Christie, Texas; Michael Kenneth Whitmill (wife Lora) of Desoto, Texas; William Wallace of Galveston, David Carol Granger of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Don Longmiles Sr. of Houston, a host of cousins, other family members and friends whom she loved dearly.

The service was held at Peevey Funeral Home, Saturday, September 18, interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
