Monica Ann Garcia, 49, passed away on August 18, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with cancer. Born on August 16, 1976, in Taft, Texas, and raised in Deer Park, Monica lived her life with energy, laughter, and love that left an imprint on everyone who knew her.

Monica was a force of nature — fierce, outgoing, caring, and unapologetically herself. She always had an answer, always had an opinion, and always had a way of making people feel seen and cared for. She lived boldly, with confidence, and brought warmth and humor wherever she went.

She was a foodie at heart and found joy in discovering new foods and sharing meals with the people she loved. Her husband, Jesse, would happily drive for hours just so she could try something new or revisit an old favorite. She was also passionate about finding the latest and greatest coffee shops. On Sunday mornings, she would wake her granddaughters bright and early to go get a coffee before church. They were not always thrilled about waking up early, but a frozen hot chocolate made it worth their while.

She carried music and joy wherever she went. No matter where she was, if music was playing, it was time for a dance party. She truly was the life of the party, just ask any of her friends. Her singing voice was beautiful, but more than that, it was filled with love and life. Her favorite place to sing was anywhere with her girls.

Her greatest pride and joy were her daughters and grandchildren. Monica adored being a mother and Lolli, pouring her heart into raising her girls and treasuring every moment with her grandbabies, who brought her endless happiness.

For 22 years, Monica worked at Methodist Hospital as a Patient Access Specialist, where her compassion and dedication touched both coworkers and patients alike. She was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Pasadena, where she had worshiped since 2000. Her love for children and her faith were constants throughout her life.

Monica is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, Jesse Garcia; her beloved daughters, Jessica, Skye, and Kenadi; and her precious grandchildren, Kamila, Kambree, and Benson. She is also survived by her parents, Olga and David Tijerina; her siblings, Michelle, Melinda, and DJ; her grandparents, Alvaro and Minerva Olguin; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will carry her spirit forward.

Monica will be remembered for her boldness, her honesty, her laughter, and her unwavering love for her family. To know her was to know joy, and her legacy will live on in the countless memories she created with those she loved.

The service celebrating Monica's life, will be held Thursday, August 28, at 11:00am. at First Baptist Church Pasadena.
