Moises Nava Montez age 91 of Harlingen, Texas, passed away on February 23, 2026, in Georgetown, Texas.

He was born on August 14, 1934, in Harlingen, Texas to Wenceslao and Sabina Montez. He graduated from the University of Texas and went on to an aerospace engineering career with NASA.

On August 25, 1957, he married Aurora Cardozo in Harlingen, Texas. Together they were married for 69 years.

He is survived by Aurora Montez, Daniel Montez, Nora Gallinghouse and Laura Northridge.

He will be remembered for being a good honorable man that put his faith in God, working for everything he had, always keeping his word and always telling the truth. He was especially proud of serving in the military, being the first in his family to graduate from college and putting three children through college.

The service honoring Moises's life will be held at 1:30pm, Monday, March 2, 2026, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089. With visitation one hour prior to the service.
