MICHAEL WAYNE KEENER, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died on October 26, 2025, of complications from brain trauma and Alzheimer's. Mike was born on November 20, 1951, to the late Harvey J. and Bonnie Spindle Keener. He is survived by his sister, Betty Childers, his beloved wife, Brenda Keener; children, Jennifer Lisbony and John Dies (Michelle); grandchildren, Austin Dies (Mariah), Haley Bailey (Jake), Madison Dies, Kate Dies and Tristan Lisbony; and bonus grandchildren, Luis Rodriguez and Emma Lisbony, great-grandson, Parker Ray Bailey, sister-in-law, Margie Townsend, brothers-in-law, Barry Mackebon (Paulette), and Fred Mackebon.  He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, and his precious black cat, Ebony Marie.

Mike is preceded in death by his beloved parents, brother and sister-in-law, Billy J. and Davlyn Keener, sister and brother-in-law, Frankie and Dennis Cordray, sister, Jane Ramsey, brother-in-law LeGuin Childers, nephew Gregory Keener, and niece, Michelle Mackebon.

Mike retired from Occidental Petroleum (fka Diamond Shamrock) after 38 years of service, and he would proudly say, "with perfect attendance and no letters in my file!"

The family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at CrossRoads United Methodist Church, 10030 Scarsdale Blvd., in Houston, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m, the service will begin at 11:00 a.m., and lunch will be served in the Family Life Center immediately following the service. The family will depart at 2:30 p.m. for a private interment at South Park Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are John Dies, Austin Dies, David Townsend, Tristan Lisbony, Luis Rodriguez and Sanders Sam.
