Michael (Mike) Henry Willis, age 68, of Pearland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. He was born in Houston on May 10, 1957 to Arthur Benjamin Jr. (A.B.) & Molly Willis.

Mike graduated from Sam Rayburn High School, in Pasadena Texas in 1975. Despite having earned his BS in Finance from the University of Houston, Clear Lake, Mike was a devoted Texas A&M Aggie fan after sending his two daughters to college there.

Meeting in high school, Mike fell in love with, and eventually married his wife of 44 years, Shari Lynn Willis (Mechler). They chose to stay close to family and put down roots in Pasadena, building their family, life-long friends and church family at South Main Baptist. Mike was an active member at South Main Baptist, serving in a variety of roles as a Sunday school & youth teacher, mission trip leader and deacon. He also served as a mentor and was always willing to give, without question.

Mike spent his career in the software industry, in various sales and management positions, finally fully retiring in 2024 from Nvidia. He also spent decades as a high school football referee, sharing his love of sports with many generations of young athletes.

His true joy came from spending time with Shari and his family. You could find him at a natatorium or sports field just about any weekend, cheering on grandkids, his pride and joy. Though his retirement was short, he was most excited to stay close to watch his grandkids grow & thrive. He loved BIG and was loved BIG.

Mike was pre-deceased by his father, A.B. Willis Jr. Mike will continue to live on in cherished memories by his loving and devoted wife, Shari Lynn Willis; daughter, Jennifer Steil and husband Keith; daughter, Kim Simon and husband Shannon; grandson, Knox Steil; granddaughters, Zoey and Zaya Simon; mother, Molly Willis; sister, Susan Keller and husband Mark; brother John Willis and wife Becky; mother-in-law, Beverly Mechler; and many nieces, nephews and friends who are like family.

As a devout Christian, Mike cherished his relationship with God and during his final weeks on earth, he was even more confident in his final resting place. He continued to sing and speak of God's grace, love and miracles to the doctors, nurses and caregivers. We know he is at peace, rejoicing in Heaven with His Father.

A service to celebrate his life will be at South Main Baptist Church, Monday, June 9, at 12:30pm., with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
