Obituary

Michael passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus October 17, 2026. Though his earthly journey has ended, the love, laughter, and unforgettable memories he leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Born and raised in La, Michael was a man with a big personality and a spirit that could fill any room. He was truly the life of the party, bringing laughter, energy, and his own special brand of humor wherever he went. After graduating high school, he left home at an early age to explore the world and discover what life had to offer.

Michael dedicated a portion of his life serving others through his work in safety and security at Methodist Hospital, where he worked until retirement.

Michael had a love for many things, including old cars, cooking, gardening, music and above all family gatherings. He especially loved food and took great pleasure in experiencing cuisines of all kinds. For Michael, food was more than something to enjoy; it was a way to bring people together and create lasting memories.

One of the family’s fondest memories was Michael cooking pork chops and candied yams at two o’clock in the morning, stirring up the entire household with the smell of his cooking We would all get up for a plate. He would fuss but always gave in.

He also loved being outdoors and appreciated the beauty and peace of nature. Surfside Beach was one of his favorite places where he could enjoy the open air and the simple pleasures of life.

Michael’s legacy is one of laughter, love, independence and cherished family memories.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children Brian and Rozlyn, sister, Marlynn (Woody), brothers Jimmy (Yvette), Ron (Val), Dwayne (Tina) and Jeff (Felicia), grandchildren, Brandon, Tori, Alyssa, AJ, and Jaden, his special Aunt Carrie; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to the angels God sent into our lives, Arlean Tillis, One You Love Homecare, Houston Hospice and MD Anderson.

Rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus, Michael. You were deeply loved, you will be dearly missed and you will never be forgotten.

Until we meet again…
