Michael Richard Covington was born to Mary L. Whitbey and Mickey Covington on November 19, 1947 in Cleburne, TX. He passed away on June 26, 2026 at his home in Houston.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Mary Whitbey, J.G. Whitbey and Mickey Covington.  His wife Sharron Covington.

Mike worked from the age of 21 until his retirement in the Petrochemical Industry on the Houston ship channel.  He had a strong work ethic and was well respected by his coworkers and friends.

Mike is survived by his 2 daughter's Michelle Hruby and Kelli Jarvis (Jerry) and his grandchildren Laura and Kyle Hruby. Nephew Steven Whitbey (Vivian) and numerous other relatives and friends.

Please join the family for visitation and funeral at Peevey Funeral Home 12440 Beamer Rd Houston Texas 77089, Friday, July 3, 2026.  The funeral will begin at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held privately at South Park Cemetery.
