Mary Frances Stephens passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the age of 80. She was born the youngest child of Lenora (Kupka) Gaidousek and John Gaidousek in Houston, Texas, on August 21, 1946.

Mary graduated from Incarnate Word High School after attending St. Theresa’s Elementary School.

Mary lived a vibrant life, bringing incredible energy to everything she did—from modeling and working at Astroworld during its opening years to her time in real estate, retail, and makeup artistry. A true 'Barbie Doll' to her coworkers, who still remember her as the absolute best with people and a powerhouse in sales. She truly loved connecting with others. With her signature polished look—hair and makeup always thoughtfully attended to—Mary brought beauty and joy to many around her.

Mary loved gardening, baking, cooking, and family. She especially loved the sun and sand. She and her daughter shared a lifelong passion for the coast, enjoying countless beach trips over the years with her brother Eugene’s family, a memorable getaway to Corpus Christi in the late 90s, and a special mother-daughter trip to Cancun in July 2003 when Mary was 56. Even at 56, Mary was still ready to have fun. Jennifer fondly treasures memories from their Cancun trip together.

As a devoted caretaker to her own mother, Lenora, Mary did everything from making a hot breakfast to getting her mom’s hair just right. With two strong-willed Czech women under one roof, it was loud and energetic, but their closeness was undeniable.

Her love, joy, and caretaking continued, and she enjoyed spending time with Helana, Jack, and Luke. She loved coming over to the Weavers' home to love on her three grandchildren. They enjoyed meals, dancing, worship, games, prayer, and time playing frisbee outdoors. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy.

At the heart of Mary’s life was an unwavering love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Jennifer remembers her with profound fondness—for her steadfast devotion, the comfort of her daily prayers during Jennifer’s childhood, the grace of blessing every meal, and the gentle guidance that anchored her daughter Jennifer in faith. To her daughter, Mary leaves behind a legacy of spiritual strength and powerful prophetic declaration, most memorably captured in her frequent, loving parting words: "Vaya con Dios"—Go with God.

That deep-rooted faith continues to bear fruit today, active in a family devoted to serving the Lord through the city and nation in evangelism, church involvement, mission trips, and a granddaughter, Helana, who faithfully serves as a global missionary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Paul and Eugene Gaidousek, and sister Bessie Rochen.

She is survived by her only child, Jennifer Weaver; her son-in-law, Richard; and 3 grandchildren, Helana, Jack, and Luke Weaver; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mary last faithfully and consistently attended Second Baptist Church in Houston.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089, the Celebration of Life will begin 10:00 AM. Lunch will be served from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a private family burial to follow.
